The Public Interest Law Association is a student-run organization dedicated to promoting legal work that benefits the public and improves the quality of life for people in our community.
In addition, PILA allows students to gain a better understanding of what public interest law is, so they may decide whether to pursue a public interest career.
PILA accomplishes this by hosting speakers, career panels, and providing public interest summer fellowships.
PILA also raises awareness among law students about the need, importance and fulfillment of public service through promotion of public interest events and the Pro Bono Commendation Award in conjunction with Career Services
"There can be no equal justice where the kind of trial a man gets depends on the amount of money he has."
- Justice William O. Douglas
